Lagos Nations Hostel is located in the old town center surrounded by the city walls, overlooking the sea, marina and the “Gil Eanes” square.
The hostel features free WiFi and provides a free daily buffet breakfast served on the living room with access to the terrace offering suburb views of the beach.
The unit features accommodation in double private, family and dormitory rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities and most of them with balcony and view to the ocean. The rooms have access to a shared lounge area.
Guests are welcome to cook their own meals in 2 communal kitchens at their disposal, enjoying them in the shared dining area. Alternatively, Lago´s center has a wide variety of restaurants on offer for all tastes, many within a short 1-minute walk.

Nations Hostel staff can organize to the guests all type of activities and services, like grotto boat tour, Dolphin Safaris trips, surf lessons, canoeing and sail, mountain bike tours, golf and others by request.
About 100 meters from the hostel door there´s a regional bus stop connecting the center to all points of interest in Lagos, including all beaches and Lago´s Zoo. Alternatively, Dona Ana beach and Meia Praia are within 25 min walking.
Most of the museums and historical points of interest like the Slave Market, Military chapel of Santo António, Governors Castle, Santa Maria Church and Fortaleza da Ponta da Bandeira are within a short 5-minutes’ walk (0,4km).
National bus and train station are less than 10 minute walking from the hostel connecting Lago´s to Faro Airport, Lisbon, Porto and many others interesting regions in Portugal.

Castle of Governors

This castle was rebuilt on the site of a former Arab castle during the 14th-16th centuries to become the residence of the governors of the Algarve. Partially destroyed in the 1755 earthquake, it contains a beautiful example of a Manueline window, alongside which King Sebastião allegedly said his last prayers before his fateful trip to Africa.

Infante D. Henrique

Better known as Henry the Navigator, Infante D. Henrique was an important figure in 15th-century Portuguese politics and in the early days of the Portuguese Empire. Carried out in very small ships, mostly the caravel, a light and maneuverable vessel, Henry expeditions left the port of Lagos down to the coast of Africa. Later on the expeditions return to Lagos bringing slaves which were sold in the slave market located in the old town center of Lagos.
